still most of us don't understand the fundamental meanig of what a democracy is? actually am not a lecturer on the subject but as every body understands its literal meanig is the right to express freely, the right to gather... and only outocrats or dictators abuse those rights by closing down institutions and shuting up the rights of freely speaking. I'm thanking to Shibal for that matter has given us opportunity to express our feeling. 'Squareone' please don't use unncessary jargons such as 'shut down or put up 'and so on the like . The entire feeling of the comment is to share views of the current situation in home. If you need more about evidence go through the home page of Country of origin USA on Human Rights issue of Septmber 2007 edition or Home office report of the UK....and the user of this net as I think is to exchange views with respecting manner than creating a pitfall.

I am pleased with Dirk Bustorf's PhD thesis of Oral history of the Siltie people and would like to cooperate in any ways that I can afford. Hope to see the out come on Shibal.com in the end(if that is possible).

Today I discovered your website and I'm very happy what I found. I'm a German social anthropologist working on my Ph.D. on the oral history of the Silte people as well as for the Encyclopaedia Aethiopica. I was in Silte three times 2002, 2003, 2005/06 for several month. I stayed with peasants in all weredas of Silte zone to collect information from baliq. Now, my last stay is already long ago. Your website will help me cope with my "home"sickness. Siltes in Germany please contact me. Thank you. Fayya walu.
